Miyagwa Choshun

1682～1752
He was a Japanese-style painter. He specialized in Japanese traditional art, Bijin-ga(美人画:portraying beautiful women). His works are elegant and used gorgeous color quality. The main theme of his works is prostitutes. Miyagawa clan dismantled in 1749 because of sword fight incident with Syunga Kano (狩野春賀)clan. Cyosyun's apprentice, Syunsyou Katsukawa(勝川春章) took over Chosyun.
