Ishida Yutei

1721～1786
He was a painter born to the Tachibana family. He became an adopted son of Hanzaemon Ishida (石田半右衛門). Yutei studied painting under the pupil of Tanyu Kano, Tangei Tsurusawa (鶴沢探鯨).He was conferred Hokyo (法眼:one of the rank among monks and artists). He made efforts to found the Kyoto art world and produced brilliant pupils including Okyo Maruyama (円山応挙).
