Utagawa Kunitora

He was an Ukiyo-e artist, the pupil of Toyokuni Utagawa(歌川豊国). It is said Kunitora became a ghostwriter of his master and senior pupil and made money. He was good at Western-style landscape painting not only Ukiyo-e. He used unique technique called “Itabokashi” (板ぼかし: the technique of shading).
