He was a low-level functionary born in Tokyo. He liked to paint so studied under Gyokuen Kano(狩野玉燕) since his childhood. He is known for the author of Moji-e (文字絵: character paint). He drew Buddhist painting with passage from sutras. We can feel his devotion for belief from his works.
