He was a poet, Japanese classical scholar, and painter born in Aomori pref. He studied Japanese classical under Mabuchi Kamono (賀茂真淵). His made a living by haiku (俳句:Japanese seventeen syllable poem).Later he wrote waka (和歌:Japanese poetry,)
Also, he drew Nan-ga (南画:the south school of Chinese painting).
