Suzuki Daisetsu

Suzuki Daisetsu (1870-1967), born in Ishikawa Prefecture, was a Buddhist scholar of the Meiji and Showa periods, who studied Zen under Imakita Kosen and Shaku Soen at Engakuji Temple in Kamakura.
He devoted himself to the study and dissemination of Buddhism, especially Zen thought. His real name was Teitaro.
