Kano Tsunenobu
1636~1713
He was a Kano school painter, son of Naonobu Kano(狩野尚信). Tsunenobu succeeded to the head of family in 1650. After his father’s death, he studied painting under his uncle, Tanyu Kano (狩野探幽). Also, he studied the ancient painting including Indian-ink painting by himself. He is regarded as a hard worker. He participated in the creation of screen painting in Edo castle and Old Imperial Palace. He was conferred Hogan and Hoin (the ranks among the Buddhist priests).
