Chobunsai Eishi

1756～1829
He was an Ukiyo-e painter. He studied under Kano Michinobu (狩野典信). Eishi received the pen name from the shogun, Ieharu Tokugawa (徳川家治). He specialized in Bijin-ga (美人画:the portrait of beautiful women).He established his own style and became very popular.
