Ichikawa Kansai

1749~1820
He was a Shinologist. He studied Chinese classics under Seiyo Hayashi (林正良). Then, he became a president of Syoheiko (昌平黌). He founded Kokoshisya (江湖詩社) and produced many pupil including Jotei Kashiwagi (柏木如亭) and Shibutsu Ookubo(大窪詩佛). A calligrapher, Beian Ichikawa (市河米庵) was Kasai’s son.
