Iten Sosei

1472〜1554
He was a Zen monk born in Kyoto. He succeeded the teachings of Socho Tokai(東海宗朝) and became a head priest of Daitoku-ji temple (大徳寺). Also, he founded Soun-ji temple (早雲寺) in Hakone. He had a close friendship with an artist monk, Syukwi Sesson (雪村周継).There is a portrait of Sosei written by Sesson.
