1743~1812
He was an Ukiyo-e (浮世絵: pictures or woodblock prints of floating world) artist, the pupil of Syunsyo Kastsukawa (勝川春章). He was good at Yakusya-e (役者絵:print of Kabuki actors). Also, he produced Ookao-e (大顔絵:big face print ).His works are powerful. He had an influence on Syataku Tosyusai (東洲斎写楽). He was stricken with paralysis and couldn’t use his right hand but he continued painting with his left hand.
