Kaiho Yusho

1533～1615
He was a painter born in Shiga pref. He lost his father at the young age. After many twists and turns, he studied painting under Kano-school. His major work is the screen paintings in Kennin-ji temple (建仁寺). His works are overwhelming presence. We can confirm his wide repertoire of painting including Indian ink painting and Dami-e (濃絵: painting using strong colors).
