Ueda Kocho

1788～1850
He was a painter. After studying painting under Gosyun (呉春), he studied under Ranko Nakai (中江藍江). Also, he studied ancient Chinese painting and calligraphic work. He was good at Kcho-ga (flowers and birds painting) and landscape painting. He served Tokugawa family as Goyo Eshi (an official painter). Also, he published some picture books.
